A drama with humor, compassion and unexpected heroism, That Day in Tucson centers around 2 real people in Tucson, AZ: Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who becomes a victim in a shooting rampage, and young intern Daniel Hernandez, Jr., who rushes to Giffords’ rescue and helps save her life. As Hernandez finds himself suddenly in the media’s limelight, he grapples with sharing his involvement in the LGBTQ community, his identity as a bicultural, bilingual Latino in the southwest and his discovery of his commitment to public life.
